Le Prieuré sur Seine

“This was a surprise 3 night stay for my wife, as we came to the end of a 15 day road tour of France. We definitely left the best for our last stop. The property and location are simply breathtaking. Nestling right on the edge of La Seine, adjacent to a quiet country road bridge, the 3 sets of accommodation have been superbly and charmingly decorated and equipped with the combined talents of Annï and Jean-Pierre, the owners of La Prieuré. We stayed in the Le Studio, a cosy one bed space with a lovely country kitchen and cosy living room, and beautifully appointed bathroom with walk-in shower - all on the ground floor. A door from the courtyard of La Prieuré opens into the living room, and there is a door from the kitchen out onto the grassed area overlooking La Seine. A table with two chairs sits invitingly by the riverside. It was hot and sunny during our visit, and there is a small ‘beach’ a few minutes walk upstream where the locals swim, floating gently downstream towards the quiet road bridge. It’s a great way to cool off! Annï was kind enough to show me around the other two properties that comprise La Prieuré, La Petite Maison and Le Logis. All are charmingly furnished and superbly spacious. It was an idyllic stay - and a special place for us to return to. I hope some of the pictures I have provided conjure up a little of the magic we felt for the place. We are already planning our return.”

“This place is a find! We stayed in the very grand and spacious 3-bed apartment and it's a work of art. Fabulous terrace with a BBQ and view over the river. Everything (linens, beds, products) is top quality. We spent the time walking or kayaking up river and swimming (well, floating) back in the strong current. Scenic bike riding and walking too. We were also lucky to be there for a band playing one night at the little (not often open) bar next door. Only reservation is that the bar is set so high, can they maintain that level? I really hope so.”

“We spent a wonderful weekend at Le Prieuré (The Studio) in Marney-sur-seine and we recommend it. The apartment and the property is in front of the seine river and this morning I could see a cormorant hunting and catching some fishes! The boulangerie owned by Kinga makes one of the finest bread I never eat in my life !”

“Our stay was an absolute dream. The atmosphere is rustic but with luxurious amenities, very tastefully decorated to make you feel you belong there. The rooms are large (or huge if you come from the city) but homely and intimate, with soft accoustics, all breathing with a comfort and cosiness not of this world anymore. And the bed was sooo comfortable. Linnen and towels clean, perfect, with a subtle wonderful smell. Toilet/shower/kitchen were all perfectly clean, meticulously presented and fully equiped. Communication was great online, and on site the hostess was kind and effective and available by phone/mail during our stay, although there was no need - everything was so taken care of and we felt wonderfully pampered without ever seeing her again. The real cherry on top was the wonderful large fireplace, in front of which we spent our evenings. A perfect romantic getaway if that is what you looking for, or a cosy but spacious place to hang out, cook and talk with friends. Really perfect five star experience *****. And no, this is not AI, I am really this happy about our stay :-).”

“We absolutely loved our stay at Le Prieuré! We rented the one bedroom apartment and it was gorgeous - so well-decorated, and spacious enough for two people. The town is very small and charming - having a car is necessary to go grocery shopping in other towns' markets or go to a restaurant. Anni was very communicative, friendly and helpful. The one thing that could be improved for guests who are remote working is that my partner and I noticed that if one of us were on a video call, the other's internet connection would slow to a halt - so we just had to plan around that. Otherwise - lovely. We can't wait to return for a longer visit.”
